Smithfield Probate and Ct. Records ........Date of the Town Council, held at Smithfield on the 5th day of January, 1789 where as Phebe Bagley widow late of Smithfield, deceased, who died intestate and left a valuable personal estate, which by the state laws was left in the care of the town council. William Bagley, Esq., appeared before said council and desired that administration of said estate be granted unto him and also to be appointed administrator, which was granted, provided he comply with the law. The said William Bagley submitted inventory of the aforesaid.
Inventory date was the 13th day of September, 1787

Wearing apparel, 2 cows, 1 bull, 1 calf, 1 pair Looms, 1 set of chairs with eleven narrow seatings, Two old angus, spades and hammers, one beetle and wedges (heavy wooden hammer), one pair of handIrons, shovel and trough, 2 large kettles, 4 medium pots, 1 small pot, 1 spider, 1 frying pan with 1 grid iron, platter, 1 box iron and heater, 1 cast hoops and heel rings, 1 wedging iron and 1 small hoop, 1 bucket and irons, 1 box old iron, 1 pair handirons, plowshare, colton bold stallion, 1 crane, eyes. 1 brass kettle and warming pan, 1 pair iron dogs, 1 pair stillions, 2 woolen wheels, 1 clock, skimmer wheels, 1 chest, 1 bread trough, 1 sieve and spoon, 7 tubs, 6 haloback chairs, 2 small trays, 1 hay wheel, 1 case with 11 bottles, 1 Sea chest, 1 cornice, 1 bedding, 1 under bed jackets, 3 wooden bowls, 1 iron bar, 1 round table, 1 long table, 2 looking glass, 2 silver teaspoons, 2 chests, 3 kitchen cabinets, 1 large and 1 small platters, 10 plates, earthen pots, muskets, 1 earthen porringer, 1 mustard pot, 6 cups and saucers, 2 bottles and jugs, 1 box candles, 1 set hidehill ?, 1 bible, 100 asst. books, 2 willow and 1 square baskets, 6 pillow cases, 1 pair cotton thermals, 2 coverlets, 3 blankets, 3 flannels, 1 ironing cloth, 12 shoe hammers, 1 quilt wheel, 2 beds and bedding, 1 pair warping bars, 1 spinning wheel, 1 bed and bedding.
