Hello Tom,
Rebecca's immediate family as follows:
Jasper Writer born 1740 in Germany came to Minisink region of Orange County, New York. He served in the Revolution and is buried in Plains Cemetery in Otisville, Orange County. He died in November 1842 (yes, correct over 100). Although, he came to America with a sister, she died on the journey over and nothing is known at this time about his sister or the remainder of his family in Germany. He married Eve Kortright 8 September 1772 in Phillipsburg, Orange County.
Eve Kortright was born 21 July 1752 in Harlem. She was the daughter of Aaron Kortright and Margaret Delamater, both families descend from New Amsterdam. She died December 1830 and is buried in Plains Cemetery. Children as follows:
Margaret Writer (my direct ancestor) born 1 March 1774 in Orange County and died
February 1846 in Pickaway County, Ohio. She married first Ziba Rundle (again, my direct ancestor) and after he died in 1815 she remarried Cornelius Van Waggoner.
Aaron Kortright Writer was born 25 April 1776 in Orange County and died 25 April 1855 in New York. He married first on 24 August 1796 Elizabeth McKeeby in Orange County and after her death in 1817 he remarried Eleanor Brink.
Elizabeth Writer was born 5 October 1778 in Orange County and died March 1865 in Mount Hope and is buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Orange County. She married John Van Tuyle (can't prove a relation to Daniel but seems likely in spite of the spelling). Daniel was born in 1781 in New York.
Anna Nancy Writer was born 31 July 1781 in Orange County. She died 11 April 1848 in Orange County and is buried in Manning Cemetery. She married Joel Rundle, younger brother to Ziba, husband of sister Margaret.
Eleanor Writer was born 1 April 1784 in Orange County and died 9 March 1870 in Brooklyn, Pennsylvania. She married John Matthew McKeeby (again, suspect a relationship to Elizabeth, wife of brother Aaron, but haven't tied the two together yet).
Rebecca Writer was born 2 December 1786 in Orange County and died 31 August 1838 in Sullivan County, New York. She is buried in the Van Tuyl Cemetery. She married Daniel Van Tuyl 1 December 1806. He was born 11 August 1781 and died 25 February 1844 and is also buried in Van Tuyl Cemetery.
John Falter Writer was born 9 March 1789 in Orange County and was living in Onieda County during the 1850 census. He died near Honesdale. He married MaryAnne (surname Unknown).
Jasper Writer, Jr. was born 18 April 1791 in Orange County and it is Unknown when and where he died. He married Rhoda Penney who was born in Orange County in 1798 and died in Tioga County, New York in 1885.
