Notes for Thomas Gary Morehead
[janicebagley.ged]
Little is known of Thomas Gray Morehead previous to his second marriage, except he spent most of his life on farms in the vicinity of West Bend, KY.
Tragedy was his constant companion. His first wife died less then two years after their marriage.
Trouble followed him into his second marriage, their first child, living only 4 days. The thrid child, Asa Armster Morehead, was fatally burned when he fell into the fireplace a few months before his third birthday. The second child, Owen Turner Morehead, was fatally injured in a hunting accident some eight years after his father's death.
Thomas was himself stricken with paralysis, and the last few years of his life was that of a helpless invalid, during which time his wife, Jhoda, was faced with the task of caring for him as well as raising her small children. Money was far from being plentiful and Jhoda waged a long, hard struggle.
