Hi Tom:
I am a McKee descendant from Robert and Elizabeth McKee to son John (Robert,
Jrs. brother) and Rebecca Wickersham McKee to Joseph and Almira Hutchinson
McKee to Joseph Monroe and Elizabeth Suttton McKee to Elmira Mae McKee and
John Monroe Morgan to Charles Henry and Olga Kuhl Morgan to James H. and
Olive C. Criger Morgan. That is probably too confusing.
Anyway, I have been given information from several people that have been
doing research on the McKee family for several years. I was sent a copy of
the chapter "McKee Family" out of the book "Frederick County, Virginia" by
Wilmer L. Kerns. Ph.D. to send to you. It has information about Jasper and
other McKee relatives.
If you would send me your mailing address, I can mail this to you.

Hi Tom,
I will put the copy of pages from "Frederick County, Virginia" in the mail
today.
To answer your question, no I have not visited your web site. I haven't
done very much of that type of looking on the web to date. But, I will
check out what you have soon. And no, I do not have a web site. I probably
should figure out how to make one. I have so much information on all sides
of my family and my husband's family that I am not sure I want to tackle
that big of a job.
Bartholomew was the son of Robert, Jr. But, Robert, JR's father was Robert.
The Sr. Robert is the one that came from Ireland. Robert Jr. also had a
brother Bartholomew. This all according to what I have been given and what
is in the copy that I am sending to you.
John was born in Frederick County, Virginia. Bartholomew, son of Robert
Sr., served in the War of 1812. It doesn't appear that any of the McKee
sons would have been old enough to have served in the Revolutionary War. I
could be wrong.
I am willing to share what I have with you. I know that some of the other
researchers have information that I don't have, yet. I would like to know
what they have that I don't have. Then I would know what to ask them to
share with me. Most of them are getting to an age where if I don't get busy
soon, it will be too late. I could send a gedcom on diskette if that would
be of help.
Must get about this days tasks. Sorry it took me so long to respond to your
Gen Forum inquiry. It took a while to hear from Mr. Higginbotham. I
thought he might like to contact you since he is so knowledgeable about the
McKee family. He isn't on the internet and isn't interested in being on it.
So, he left it up to me to see that you get this information from the book
that he has (Frederick County, Virginia). He has met the author and has
argued with him about the correctness of the John McKee family. In the copy
I'm sending you will see that on page 292 he has no beside Joseph McKee.
There may have been a child named Joseph of Robert and Elizabeth (McMorris)
McKee, but this particular Joseph belongs to John and Rebecca (Wickersham)
McKee.
