The battle of Perryville, Kentucky was that states largest
battle in the Civil War. It was fought in early October of 1862. It
was the deciding blow that drove the Confederate forces out of that state
and kept it in the Union. For several years now there has been a
reinactment of that battle celebrated the first weekend in October.
