Jasper Cather - b: 1740 (Ulster,
Northern Ireland) - d: 1812 (Gainsboro , Frederick County, Virginia) |
My Revolutionary War Ancestor
My 4th
great- grandfather, Jasper Cather fought as a private for the state of
Virginia in the Revolutionary War. It is purported that he was
present at the surrender of the British at Yorktown, Virginia.
Left is the official Revolutionary War soldier marker on his grave in
Virginia. Right is a photo of him (at least it was labeled as
such) I found in his file in the Daughters of the American Revolution
Library in Washington, D.C.
